MARIA BEDNARCZYK

Born in 1995, a graduate of the E.Geppert Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław, majoring in Art and Glass Design, she also studied at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava. A scholarship holder of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. In her projects, she most often uses colorless, transparent glass. As she says, this material shows a whole range of advantages in its simplicity. The artist uses the effects of light penetration, playing with form, strong penetration into the space of seemingly fragile and ephemeral objects, which, however, in direct contact show their hapticity and presence. The use of sharp, bristling, provocative and dangerous forms is also characteristic. Although it requires the viewer to be courageous and go beyond the comfort zone, her works require tangible experience, which is the artist’s goal: “I want us to share our warmth with glass through touch, reviving it. Many of my works provoke touch, encourage interaction and research. This is my goal, to connect the work and the recipient, to create a new quality of art, living art.”
