hot-formed glass, blown into a mold, bonded with metal.
The artist’s works presented at the exhibition are entitled “Vessels for air” and they present slender, bottle-shaped forms with irregular shapes, made of thick, transparent glass. They look as if they were braided with a thin metal wire or a tangle of colored lines obtained during the reaction of metal oxides at high temperature. As the artist herself says, the idea that guided her when creating these works is the combination of seemingly incompatible materials and also technologically difficult ones to combine, such as glass and metal: “The basis is dualism, i.e., the action of two independent, opposing energies that only together create unity. It is like good and bad that cannot exist without each other. This is what my spatial compositions are, where glass and metal interpenetrate, vibrating and creating a complete whole. I create spatial images made out of contrasts”.
